About IDPs

IDPs As A Tool
The Individual Development Plan, or IDP, is a tool that helps employees analyse their careers and determine their personal and professional goals. It also helps them tie those goals to training and/or programs that may be used to advance their plans.

IDPs and Performance Evaluations
Human Resources encourages supervisors to use the IDP as a management tool to complete the professional development section of Employee Performance Appraisals. IDPs should be reviewed and updated annually as part of this evaluation process.

IDPs and Professional Development Funding
Funds are available for classified and exempt employees to attend trainings, workshops and conferences outside the college. These funds are limited and distributed on a first come/first serve basis. To apply for these funds you must have an IDP on file with ODET. Click here for an application for funding.

Faculty IDPs have not been approved by Instruction and are therefore not available.
