Our Mission
The Edmonds
Community College Organizational Development and Employee Training (ODET)
Department provides innovative, responsive and accessible professional development programs that support the college mission, build community and increase employee effectiveness. We respect all forms of diversity and actively promote inclusivity, collaboration and social justice.
Our Vision
To create an active
learning organization we will:
- Ensure fair, consistent and equitable access to
developmental opportunities.
- Respond to requests for assistance by providing
facilitation, coaching, advising and problem solving, as well as
developing, organizing and implementing workshops and seminars.

Advocate and encourage employees to be actively engaged in their
development on both a personal and professional level.
- Establish programs and services to create substantive
change in individual learners.
Goals
- Facilitate personal renewal, organizational
change, continuous improvement.
- Clarify Edmonds Community College mission and
goals for all employees working at the college.
- Include and support committees working on
classified staff development, professional exempt staff development,
employee recognition, and faculty development.
- Serve entire campus community.

Create specific responses and interventions to issues and challenges
facing institution.
- Maintain institutional vitality as it relates to
improving the educational and operational functions of the college.
- Foster organizational development. Such
activities focus on increasing management effectiveness, developing
employee understanding of the college’s mission and goals, and
increasing effectiveness in day-to-day operations.
- Promote professional development of all
employees. This includes a wide range of activities designed to
increase individual job effectiveness.
- Encourage the individual personal growth of all
staff. Activities foster personal growth and staff interaction.
